trying to decide between the two. need good and loud side-tone/mic-monitoring. and the ability to easily use and change settings while using with PS4 as well.

my turtle beach stealth 450s do all of that but are really uncomfortable. any experiences with either?

I have the Arctis 7.  Setting up a good loud sidetone is easy, but I'm not sure how easy it is to change settings when using it for a console instead of a PC.  What settings in particular are you wanting to change on the fly?

my turtle beach that i am coming from has a knob just for side tone so id like to be able to change that without software, and also eq presets on the fly

Okay, probably not for you then.  Sidetone and EQ are adjustable from SteelSeries Engine 3 from a PC and then the settings persist when you take it to your console.  The Arctis 7 are really meant for PC, they just happen to work with console should you need it, but the implementation isn't as well thought out.

I enjoy my G933s, they work quite well but the battery life is kind of shit. I find I have to plug them in often, especially if I leave them sitting for more than a day. I've never used them with a console, so I can't speak as to how easy they are to use there. The Logitech software is quite intuitive and well designed for once as well. Sound quality wise they are excellent and they are also extremely comfortable to wear for extended periods of time.

The Rainbow X58: i7 975 Extreme Edition @4.2GHz, Asus Sabertooth X58, 6x2GB Mushkin Redline DDR3-1600 @2000MHz, SP 256GB Gen3 M.2 w/ Sabrent M.2 to PCI-E, Inno3D GTX 580 x2 SLI w/ Heatkiller waterblocks, Custom loop in NZXT Phantom White, Corsair XR7 360 rad hanging off the rear end, 360 slim rad up top. RGB everywhere.

hmm but if i edit setting in software it will hold it in the firmware for when i use it on console? for instance my G502 mouse saves settings in firmware i dont need to have the software running, but my K70 keyboard needs to have corsair running to load rgb profiles

battery bad even with LEDs off? also how loud is the side-tone mic monitoring? compared  to your speaking volume. with side tone i usually like it almost as loud as im talking i heard complaints that side tone is too quiet

Correct, if you change the settings they are saved in the firmware.  You will have to move the receiver from the PS4 to your PC everytime you want to make changes though.

Battery life is very good.  I get though a whole week typically between gaming and music.  The Arctis 7 actually doesn't have any RGB lighting for sake of simplicity and battery life.

Sidetone is loud enough for me.  It has 3 or 4 settings, I use it somewhere in the middle.  I'm not sure I can judge easily if that's loud enough for you, though.

With the LEDs off you can get almost 12 hours of constant use, so it's pretty darn good at that point. I find the mic is good quality, no hiss or crackling on the other end and the noise cancelling works quite well. I don't find it quiet personally, but others may have different preferences.

looking to cop the 933s today but im reading reviews on new egg and amazon, especially the 1-2 star ones and its getting me nervous. so many reviews talking about padding ungluing in a few days and falling off, mic stop working, connectivity issues, low volume, the head set itself getting stuck in sleep mode and becoming bricked every other day requiring a firmware flash.

so many reviews talking about this but then also quite a few very positive reviews. how can it vary so much lol? what do you guys think? anyone here with terrible 933 experiences or really good ones?

The only issue I had was the headset stopped responding once, wouldn't turn on at all and I thought it had bricked itself. I popped the battery out and back in and they've worked fine ever since. I've never had connectivity issues unless I'm more than like 20 ft away and volume has never been an issue either.
