So Black Friday is next week, and I have a budget of around $650 USD, and plan to shop strictly on Amazon due to fast shipping and prime benefits. I would like some pointers on my build as I will be using it for playing some of the more modern games such as Battlefield 1, R6:Siege, PUBG, Dark Souls, GTA 5, Ark:SU, Subnautica as well as a few others. I also live in the United States and already have a 1080p monitor and peripherals. I believe from what I have read I can just plug in the two 2.5" Sata drives I have in my laptop (equaling around 1.75TB of storage) and should be able to run Windows 10 that is already on the larger of the two.

I am not sure when to jump on a deal as right now Intel and AMD processors seem to be $20-50 off. The i5-7600k would require a $118 motherboard for overclocking... as well as a $30 cooler, making me lean towards AMD. I plan to stick with a GTX 1060 for my build unless AMD is a better option? The 6GB version would be good for future proofing although it seems my budget would only allow for the 3GB Superclocked from EVGA as it is only $189 with its current sale. I also don't know about choosing between 2 DIMM or 4 DIMM slots for future upgrading to lessen the need to throw out old memory sticks. Should I just wait and see if there are better deals? Because as of now it seems like Amazon is doing their Black Friday sale early. Oh, and I also plan to have a build that is small enough that I could take it to my school's Robotics club in order to work on CAD programs, and the Micro-ATX case I have found seems to be light and small. I apologise if it seems like this post jumps from one thing to another, I went through and added a few things in to help better describe my situation.

TL;DR:

Essentially wondering if Black Friday deals will be worth it, or if I should buy parts now as my GPU and CPU have deals on them. Already have monitor, peripherals, hard drives with Win10. Also for Ryzen build deciding between 1300x+Motherboard ($194) or Ryzen 5 1600 ($199).

So should I really just go with a Ryzen 3? I thought the Ryzen 5 would be way better in terms of performance. Also not sure about getting a 580. Would rather stick with Amazon to not have so many parts coming from different places.

For that budget, and for gaming, a Ryzen 1200 is fine.

The 580 is fine, performs similarly to, or better than the 1060 6GB.

I picked the components from Amazon pricing. You can see the prices from Amazon under the prices by merchant tab. If you're willing to pay a premium for the convenience, then do that

Alright, thanks. I'll definitely consider that. But I'll keep this open if anyone else wants to provide feedback.

Forgot about the part where you said you have HDDs. Just reuse them, then. You might have to get a new Windows key, as the OEM Windows might need to be reactivated

I've actually moved my 1TB hard drive out of my old Dell laptop and placed it in the Toshiba I am using now, and the only issue I had was the "This version of Windows is not activated" logo on the desktop. I looked up a simple solution that got rid of it and let me personalize everything again.

I might think about that case, and that ram is going for a really good deal.

Went ahead and bought all the parts for $680 with tax. Sadly the 1060 3gb isn't coming in until next Wednesday (over a week from now) while everything else is coming in this Wednesday. Hopefully I made the right choice for pulling the trigger right now, though I mainly did it because the GPU was almost out of stock (and actually did become out of stock whenever I was through ordering, hence the one week longer delivery estimate.). Anyways, thanks for the assistance with the part-choosing, I will probably use these forums if I have an issue with my build or for tips on upgrading in the future.
