Help for a new build

Hi guys.Which is the best combo:

i5 8400 + GTX 1060

Ryzen 5 1600 + RX 580

Ryzen 5 1600 + GTX 1060

i5 8400 + RX 580

 

It's my first build and i want to use the PC mainly for 1080p gaming and keep it for a couple of years.

r5 1600 with gtx 1060 will give the best performance

I would recommend the Ryzen 5 1600 with the GTX 1060, this should be more than enough for 1080p gaming. The 1600 comes with a great stock cooler that should be good for regular use or even some minor overclocking if you'd like. I would also recommend the 1060 6GB, as the 3GB version is nowhere near as good.

The Ryzen 5 1500 with the 1060 will give you the best performance.

What about RX 580.Will these 8 GB be something better in the future, cuz i want to use the PC not for a short time.

no it will burn your wallet quicker make more noise and give less performance

i5 because of higher single core performance.

 

RX 580 for future support, assuming that DX12 gets more popular.

I know that with i5 i will get arround 10 fps more but isn't Ryzen 5 1600 more future proof?

For getting new CPU, yes. For getting more gaming performance, no. At this point I just dont see Ryzen surpassing the i5 in terms of gaming performance. Besides, even if Intel decides to break CPU compatibility again or Ryzen does beat the locked i5, you can still get the 8600k or  8700(k), which will leave Ryzen in the dust when it comes to games.

I just want to play games at their max settings with at least 60 FPS.If the i5 gets 115 FPS, the ryzen should probably get 100..Idk .. im so confused and dont know what to do.

If 60fps is your target then Ryzen is enough. It's also much cheaper which is a big selling point.

Assuming DX12 will get more popular, games will use more cores and threads (wolfenstein 2 for example) and run very good on Ryzen, minimally same as on Intel.
