Just downloaded the new version, it does seem pretty snappy.  However, it's been a few years since I've used this browser.  In terms of RAM management, I don't see much of a difference.  Animations seem smoother, though.  Also, the mobile version feels much more fluid than Chrome upon initial testing?

Has anyone else here tried it out?  What are your impressions?

Is it supposed to be a big upgrade from 43.0.1? Going to try it anyways, due to sometimes choppy animations. (gifs)

Yes, according to Mozilla, it's running on a brand new engine designed to be faster and use less memory than Chrome.

So I updated... I thought: well, this is nice! Don't see any difference, and it should be faster! Checked version... 47.0.2... Did another update: 56.0 (32 bits). Another try to update firefox: 57.0 (64-bits)! Yay! But nay! Ugly AF, going to restore my old version.

I have been using Firefox Nightly since they'd announced Quantum and it's been amazing.

I generally prefer open source solutions if they are available and Firefox 57 and onward seem to be a homerun as far as I'm concerned.

Does anyone here know of a good session manager that works with the new FF, especially one that can save individual windows?

I'm switching back from chrome and my previous favourite extension/addon called TabCloud doesn't work on this latest version of FF.

So far I've had one crash within 5 minutes of installing, and as above I only have one addon that doesn't work.

Other than that this new version seems definitely fast coompared to Chrome which has been slow for me recently,
