Your CPU should still be fine for 60hz gaming

 

just hop on the Ryzen 5 1600 train, will need a fan on the VRM if overclocking though

That was like way better performance overall. Especially depending on close to 4ghz you hit.

Ryzen Scaling benchmark below, the Coffee Lake parts like the i5 8400 will be faster in most games, but it's like 100fps vs 120fps in that regard.
