XBox 360 Emulators??

Camden Suckstorf

I'd like some help on if I can find a 360 emulator that is working well, and doesn't need an optical drive. If I can't that's fine with me, I'll buy an optical drive later.

If you go this route do good research because not all drives can read XBOX 360 disks.

How can I do that research? What requirements are for these?

i believe you can play xbox  games as long as you have windows 10 on pc

ask me about your system builds, AIO's, CPU's, PSU's, and GPU's.

Those are Xbox One games... Yes I do have Windows 10 but I wasn't looking for that.

That is a fake emulator!

Beware of those!

Xenia is real, but early stages.

@Camden Suckstorf

After doing some research I came up with this conclusion:

There is no good working XBOX 360 emulator.

Same story with PlayStation 3 Emulators, there is one in the works. But compatibility is low and system requirements are sky high. Same problem as Xenia for the XBOX 360.

All emulators claiming to be fully developed are filled with adware/malware in short load you system with viruses. I tested a couple in a VM just to make sure, not a single one was legitimately installing an emulator. Some required a "bios" file, which was obtained through surveys. Even after filling them in with fake information, it just linked to another survey.

My recommendation get the real hardware and an HDMI switch. If your screen has a 3.5MM audio jack, unlike the current generation consoles these do not have the ability to play audio through the controller.

XBOX 360's are pretty cheap nowadays.

Just look out for a slim XBOX 360, since those have less chance of getting the RROD.

If you have the know how, going for a mod chip could give you similar functionality to an emulator.

That however requires soldering, extra hardware, etc

But if you are willing to go Sony, a PlayStation 3 would be a good option for a couple reasons :
Slims have no real issue's, YLOD is something I've never had after owning 3. (2 Of those being super slims)

There is an exploit in the works, allowing homebrew and backups. (Working on 4.81, not the ancient 3.55)

That would get close to an emulator, since it allows you to play without using the disc. (Again I advise using this for backups reasons only!)

I do not think I'm allowed to share info about this on the LTT forums.

All I can say is PSXPlace, that should give enough googling info.

This isn't one of those fake ones, I tested the first early release.

They found something about webkit in the browser to exploit.

TL;DR

Emulators for 7th generation consoles are pretty .. meh at the moment.

Unless the Wii is what you are looking for.

Getting the real hardware could help out, or just waiting for an emulator.

Since 7th generation consoles are not fully reverse engineered an emulator working properly will take quite a while before releasing.

But if OP wants some more functionality, there is a CFW for the current firmware of the PS3 (4.81) in the works.

So if he'd buy one and not update it, it'l be a lot better for him if he can deal with the absence of the XBOX 360 exclusives.

Hardware flashers are soon to be obsolete, on the Sony side that is.

But if OP has to know how an RGH on a 360 is an option.

@Sfekke Thanks, currently a year or maybe several months ago ( I don't remember) my 360 failed after 6 years. My Dad tried cleaning all the cluster of dust out but it keeps doing the red ring and full fan speeds. I have never tried Sony, but I have so many games from the 360 I'll just go with MS.

I can't stand going on Ebay for a single second because of the stupid X ads. Will maybe try another 360 again.
