I think you may not be able to boost NVMe drivers on anything older than Z97/X99 PCs. You'd have to get a regular SSD or somehow modify your BIOS to support NVMe (know it's possible to do on X79 not sure about X58).

And IMO a really good NVMe SSD is 960 pro or a 960 evo. Have the 960 pro personally and I am very pleased about it.

I would say the Samsung 960 EVO.

Edit:

Nope the the 960 EVO doesn't have Legacy ROM support so it won't work on the X58 chipset

I know X58 can boot on M.2 SSD. A friend of mine has a Samsung 950 PRO 256 GB he´s been using for last half a year on he´s X58 system and he has not moddified bios or enable NVMe support as he cant do it.

I seen alot of people talking possitive about Samsung 960 EVO so that might be the option then. Thanks for input

Did a quick google search. The 950 Pro has legacy boot support. Don't know if the 960 EVO supports that...

Well then If you are sure it will work then go ahead and get the 960evo or if you want a bit more power the 960 pro :)

Oh what a bummer. So legacy support is the reason for why he´s 950 PRO works on he´s X58 system. Well this is great info, cause now i dont go out and buy a 960 EVO then. Hmm looks like i have to try and find a used 950 PRO then, cause these are no longer on sale in stores. But i wunder why samsung dit not put legacy support in 960 EVO/PRO. I mean if it works on 950, why not put it in 960 also.

But at least i do not go out and bay it and never getting it to work.

Looks like i wont be buying it then. Cause Limecat86 told me why 950 PRO works but not 960.

If i want M.2 SSD it looks like i am forced to get an 950 PRO.

Glad to hear you didn't bought it yet. Sorry I almost made you buy incompatible hardware, I just learned about this too.

It's thanks to @reapzzer 's comment I looked further into this.
