Hey guys. So as you may have guessed from the title I'm planning on building my first ever PC soon aaaaand..I just want everything to go well, I don't want to mess any parts or anything like that now right? I've watched quite a lot of videos and stuff and I think I'm quite educated on this part but asking for any suggestions and a hand never hurts does it now? Ok, enough chit-chat, let's get to the parts:

Motherboard: Gigabyte Z370-HD3

CPU: Intel Core i5-8600K

Cooling: Be quiet! Dark Rock 3

GPU: MSI GeForce GTX 1060 GAMING 6G

Power supply: DeepCool DA500-M 500W

RAM: G.Skill Ripjaws V 16GB DDR4 3000MHz

Hard drive: Seagate Barracuda 1TB

SSD: Samsung 850 EVO Series 250GB

Case: Fractal Design DEFINE S Black

I'm pretty sure that everything should be okay but please tell me if there is anything wrong and/or should be replaced. I don't wanna get my components and find myself in a situation where something is not fitting and/or is not alright. Also any suggestions are welcome, if there is anything better then what I have chosen close to the prise range please tell me!

EDIT: By the way I'm planning on streaming as well.

It looks pretty legit, to be honest. The only change I would make, is I would go with a CLC, but that's just a personal preference. Outside of Noctua, I'm not really a fan of air coolers.

make sure the memory you are going to buy is on the memory support list https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/Z370-HD3-rev-10#support-doc

as long as it has an xmp profile, it is fine.

unlike ryzen, intel imcs havent been iffy about high speed memory since skylake

---------

id recommend a better psu, but thats a solid build

idk

To be honest I'm not an expert on PSU's. All I know is that 80+ is kind of a must and active PFC is better then a passive one, and that it should be about 15-20% higher watts then my system's needs at best but I don't really know anything else. To be honest I didn't think there's anything else to know though. Anything to recommend?

PSU tier list, pick a tier 1-2 unit. 450-550W is enough

What about Seasonic Focus Plus 650W Gold? I can't seem to find a tier 1 one except this one where I'm looking at and I was hoping to get everything from one place. Is it going to affect the system in a bad way if it's around 150-200 watts higher then I need?

It doesn't matter if you have an overkill PSU

Doesn't it draw more power from the wall though? Or it calculates what I need and draws that amount?

The components draw the amount they need from the PSU, and the PSU draws the amount it needs from the wall

:)

Is CLC watercooling? It sounds like a drag to be honest, especially for my first build, I don't wanna mess things up. Plus Dark Rock is one of the best if not the best air coolers out there as far as reviews go, so yes please, sign me up.

Ye ye, air cooling is imo the way to go. AIOs are overrated as they look cool, but it does not matter in this case + the failure rate on AIOs and pump whine is something to take into consideration.

On subject of air cooling - please take the pro version of this cooler. The Dark Rock Pro 3. The one you listed is in many ways inferior and you want a nice cooler for such a highly-overclockable CPU.

On subject of PSUs - I'd go with EVGA SuperNova G2 550W. It is a bit more expensive, but it has very good quality that would last for years and it is also modular so no unnecessary cables in your case restricting airflow. Also when you check the prices please make sure that higher watt versions of G2 arent the same or lower price. It happens that some versions have lowered prices and some not.

On subject of Motherboard - I recently got a bit into this topic and it looks like a TON of motherboards are having issues with power delivery and VRMs these days. This leads to overheating problems and chokes the performance of your CPU. So even when you got same CPU it would differently on different boards. From the place I'm planning to buy everything there isn't SuperNova 550W, the lowest is 750W Platinum and although I'd love to get it, it's way too expensive. For now I stopped on Seasonic Focus Plus 650W actually. What do you think about it? As for the cooling, I was going for the Pro in the first place, I just forgot to write Pro in the end, that was my bad. About the motherboard, I'm still not too sure if it's going to be exactly this one, do you have any recommendations on the subject? The guy below you said, quote:

Meh, dont get the Gigabyte mobo.

Asus Prime Z370A is pretty acceptable option

Why's that? Is there anything wrong with the Gigabyte one?

I'm going to sleep now, leave any recommendations and messages below, I'll check them later. Cheers!

Bad VRM, overheating VRM.

Don't buy Apple M1 computers with 8GB of RAM

I have no knowledge about Seasonic PSUs tbh, write new topic in PSU forums and guys will help you with  your choice.

"The guy below" is dave_k who is more knowledgeable in motherboard topic then me (although very shy in providing details :P) and recently I found myself believing his words. Actually the link I gave is something he prepared.

The motherboard you chose have poor quality components that will overheat if you overclock your cpu and cause either degradation in cpu performance or it will decrease lifespan of your motherboard.

Asus Prime Z370A is a motherboard that is a good option because for acceptable price you get good quality power delivery system and vrms that are on par with other more expensive motherboards.

What about fatal1ty K6? It seems to me like it's better and almost the same price.
