I joined floatplane and paid the subscription, I was able to get on to the site , but have forgotten my password , I have tried to ask for a new password through the floatplane.com site, but it just says an error has occurred. How do I get to renew/change the password ????

First off, this thread may get more attention if you were to name it something regarding your forgotten password or the lost account.

You'll need to prove that the account is yours (It should be tied to an email or something along the way)

Getting the attention of an admin or moderator to expedite the process may also be a good idea (using @ followed by their username to mention them or starting a private message in some way)

Floatplane.com site isn't launched yet. I must wonder how did you purchase your subscription. You don't seem to have tag under name like I do. Anyway, any issues with service are better to handle with actual support (forum staff can assist to correct direction, but as FP is external part, they have own support). You should email to floatplanehelp@gmail.com . You can also use this method

 

FP is used through forums for now.
