So I have been using an Intel core i5 5200u with intel with Intel 5500 iGPU for about 3 years now for doing things with Blender and recently Unreal Engine 4. The hardrive is dying now and I need a new PC. I am 14 years old and I am extremely busy with school that I cannot afford a high end system that I would like so I did a lot of planning and decided this system probably will be the best for me. https://pcpartpicker.com/list/mKfXjc I don't want to spend much more than $550 on this PC. I plan on upgrading the memory, cpu, storage (adding an SSD), and GPU in the future but for now I am sticking to the essentials. I know it isn't going to be the best content creator friendly experience especially with a quad-core but honestly Blender has run smooth on a $400 laptop for 3 years so I am not overly concerned. I would love to hear your feedback on it! Thank you!

for blender and your production i'd actually suggest sacrificing the 1050TI for a 1050 so that you can get a 1600. but otherwise i think you balanced the build very well.

you can take a 430W~500W PSU you're still very very far from maxing that

Primary System

  • CPU
    Ryzen R6 5700X
  • Motherboard
    MSI B350M mortar arctic
  • RAM
    32GB Corsair RGB 3600MT/s CAS18
  • GPU
    Zotac RTX 3070 OC
  • Case
    kind of a mess
  • Storage
    WD black NVMe SSD 500GB & 1TB samsung Sata ssd & x 1TB WD blue & x 3TB Seagate
  • PSU
    corsair RM750X white
  • Display(s)
    1440p 21:9 100Hz

If you are on such a budget, I would recommend going within the used market. You could build a decent Haswell System for the money you want to spend.

unless you can find a cheap x99 or x79 board and cpu ryzen would do better.

another option would be a dual lga 1366 board and get 2 12 cores for 24 threads.

why not get a dual 6 core on lga 1366. it  should even beat a 7 in muti threading.

Even though, the current price of PC components new are just too much. Most of those CPU's what are on the LGA 1366 platform are just old. I think we can both agree that he should go with the Ryzen platform, as it provides lots of highly clocked cores and great performance.

I would consider the System I specified and the things I said, if the guy wasn't going to be upgrading within the next couple of years or so. I would highly recommend the guy to pick Ryzen if he can afford it.
