2. shuld I go with a ryzen 5 1600 or a i5 7600k the most intensive game I play is gta v and I whant to get into streaming and youtube

1. They are already filled and ready to install. Only need to screw it and connect it. No need to add water or whatever

2. i5 7600k is a bad choice nowadays. Either go with ryzen 5 1600 like you said, or wait for intel coffee lake in early 2018 ( 8000 serie )

3. 8 is enough, but 16 is really worth it nowadays, if you can, go for 16

4. it depens on your GPU, graphic card. I would say aim for 1440p, as even a 1080ti struggle to deliver 60 fps in 4K in most recent games

5. You could use a gtx 1080 , would fit well for a 1440p monitor. if too expensive you can try get a cheap used 980ti or 1070

CPU: Intel i7 6700K 4.5 ghz / CPU Cooler: Corsair H100i V2 / Board: Asus Z170-A / GPU: Asus Rog Strix GTX 1070 8GB / RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB DDR4 3000 mhz / SSD: Samsung 850 Evo 500 GB / PSU: Corsair RMx 850w / Case: Fractal Design Define S / Keyboard: Corsair MX Silent / Mouse: Logitech G403 / Monitor: Dell 27" TN 1ms 1440p/144hz Gsync

1- you don't your own water

2- I5 if your purely gaming it makes more since

3- 8 add more to 16 if you start video editing or other Ram intensive tasks

4-  2560 by 1440p or 3440 by 1440p either of those

5- GTX 1070, GTX 1070ti, GTX 1080, GTX 1080ti, Titan X, Titan Xp, Vega 56, and finally Vega 64 are the best

1. They are AIO, which means you never have to touch them, they are sealed.

2. IDK but probably Ryzen if you overclock it.

3. Yes, if you're not playing at 4K you should be fine with 8GB

4. A monitor that support resolution higher than 1080p (kappa). Depend on that game do you want to play, triple A games (destiny 2 etc) or e-sports (overwatch, cs:go etc) titles.

For triple A: GTX 1070/Vega 56 for 1440p and GTX 1070 ti/Vega 64 or better for 4K;

For e-sports: GTX 1060 6GB/RX480 for 1440p, GTX 1070/Vega 56 for 4K.

5. Solved.

Hi, welcome to the LTT forum.

to answer your questions,

1: All AIOs(all in one water coolers) are prefilled and do not require you to add water

2: To be honest, either is fine

3: 8 Would be enough. There is honestly no need for 16 unless you open thousands of tabs at the same time or video edit.

4: ?

5: a 1060 or AMD equivalent will be enough.( sorry haven't brushed up on AMD hardware in a while)

WIll you be streaming/editing in the future?

1. They come pre-filled.

2. Ryzen 5 1600 would likely be better if you're getting into streaming and content creation.

3. Depends what for. 8GB is enough for gaming but for content creation, you'll likely want 16GB or more. Good idea is to leave some slots on the motherboard empty so you can upgrade in the future if needed.

4. Depends on your budget, GPU and usage.

5. Need a budget and use case.

1: they come filled, they are called closed loop coolers for a reason

2: I5 8600K is what id go for, has 6 cores but it lacks the threads. i havent seen a streaming test of it, but i was able to stream on my I5 4690K at 720p just fine so there should be no problem with either if you ask me

3: 8GB is enough, but 16GB is better if you can fit it in your budget without compromising on other stuff like GPU and CPU

4: 1440p or 4K

5: 1070 for 1440p or 1080 for 4K, 1080TI if you want to max everything in everything at 4K though

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

not really he said he was purely gaming and if pricing stay this way then the 7600K makes since if he is purely gaming

and yeah I fucked up about AIO's

He didn't say he was purely gaming. He said he's wanting to get into streaming and Youtube, which means the system will likely end up being used for content creation.

Nothing good in buying an i5... the ryzen performs as good in games and is a lot better cpu....

No reason to buy an i5 now. Wait for coffee lake and get an i5 8600k : OK!

7600k ---> avoid

The 7700k is TERRIBLE for streaming with CPU encoding. It'll either drop MASSIVE amounts of frames from the steam or cause VERY low FPS in game. The i5 can only be worse than that.

1. All in one needs no added water.

2. Ryzen 5 for youtube and streaming would work well.

3. I would go with 16 for the editing of youtube and streaming.

4. 1440p is good, more then that might be hard on your GPU depending on what your doing.

5. 1070, 1070ti, or vega seems like best to shoot for without breaking the bank

I dunno. As pointed out by Bryan from TechYesCity on Twitter earlier today to Steve from Hardware Unboxed the i5 8600k clocks higher than the 8700k (at least for him) which gave him better results with a 1080Ti than the 8700k did. Also the i5 uses less power, which means less heat output, which also means you don't need as beefy CPU cooler.

I and OP was talking about kaby lake, obviously coffee lake's i5 are awesome, it's a come back, ryzen was killing i5's

Oh right. Yeah. Honestly even my Skylake CPU is average. I wish I had stuck it out with my i5 2600 another 12 months for Coffee Lake & just grabbed a 1070 to replace the GTX760 I was running.
