Rate My Gaming/Streaming Build

I know Ryzen 1700 is better a better streamer cpu, especially performance/per dollar, but people have been streaming with i7-7700k and less long before Ryzen. I think the better gaming experience and 5.0-5.2Ghz orgasm is well worth it. Also, I have a MSI gaming Laptop I would imagine I could run my stream through if I wanted to.

I'd also use this for some minor youtube video making, nothing I wouldn't imagine the 8700k couldn't repectably handle

I'd get a better PSU, and the cooler is shit. Go for a CryOrig H7 or better. The RAM is overpriced, you can get a set for almost $100 less. You don't need any kind of mass storage? I'd imagine you'd rapidly run out with only 500GB.

I'll get a 2 or 3 TB of something later. 500GB is just to start with. I plan on waiting for the RAM to go on sale. Ram goes on sale often. What PSU is better? I thought Seasonic Gold is good.

IIRC the Evo is a pretty old PSU design. Plus you're spending all that money on components, why are you cheaping out on the heart of the system, that if it fails, could take out the rest of the components with it?

I'd wait until Black Friday to buy anything computer related. Then revisit the question then once you know what the sale pricing is like.

Exactly what I plan to do. Just getting a draft together. taking feedback. What PSU exactly would you reocmmend for this build if CPU and GPU are OC

I would spend an additional $10 on the CPU cooler to get the H5.

You can definitely get cheaper kits of 32GB RAM at a decent speed.

Why an M.2 SATA drive? Just get a 2,5" drive, there's room for the cables.

If you don't need the features of the P400S, you can get the P400 for a bit less.

The M12 II is really old. Something like the CX550M is a cheap and decent option, but with this kind of budget, a tier 1 PSU like the Focus Plus Gold, G2/G3, RMx or similar makes more sense, imo.

I'd aim for something like a G2 or G3 from EVGA. There's lots of good choices though, it just depends which ones go on sale. If you Google "PSU tier list linustechtips" anything in the first category is a pretty solid choice.

I was told M.2. is faster/better than 2.5

That's simply wrong. M.2 SATA drives are as fast as, or slower than 2,5" SATA drives. M.2 is a form factor.

M.2 drives can be NVMe drives, and will then have higher read and write speeds, but in day to day use, it'll make no difference.
