So here it is a minecraft post. I also play black ops 3 and GTA v now the issue I'm having Is I can run GTA at almost max settings and black ops 3 around mid settings, but that all changes with Minecraft?

I play with mods so I understand some performance hindrance.  I'm running a a10-7870k overclock to 4.5 ghz and the integrated graphics overclocked to 940mhz. Now that's all fine and dandy in fact I could probably push it farther. But why does it do well in those games?

I'm also looking at investing in a gtg 1050ti I'm sure that would help but I want to make sure this isn't procssesor related performance issues.

I'm not new to pc parts and performance I just don't understand why some applications do better than others, i want to build I new rig when I have the cash, but do I "REALLY" need a ryzen 7 to play minecraft with decent fps...I hope not

Minecraft can run on a potato and barley uses gpu but when you play with mods it uses tons of ram and cpu but an i3 or ryzen 1200 would run all mods just fine need atleast 10 gb of ram if your using lots of mods

On my laptop with minecraft on all low settings i get 60 fps if im lucky, but on my desktop with a graphics card, i get 600 fps. Explain to me how it barely uses a gpu.

it needs a gpu but not is importantly as a cpu a 750 ti can run it easily or even my  5850 can to we are talking mods here witch will use tons of cpu

also if your trying to get over 60 fps is there really a point
