What is he planning on using the computer for? if its just gaming he would be fine with an r5 1600 and could use the extra cash to upgrade to a 1070 ti

yeah that is what i was thinking to, but wouldn´t the r5 bottleneck the 1070ti a bit or would some overclocking do the trick

Unless the friend has done other builds, reconsider the 570X RGB. That case has glass on both sides. There is nowhere to hide messy cables.

Unless the case has a psu shroud, using a fully modular psu will allow for a nicer looking interior.

Corsair Vengeance psu are pretty decent according to jonnyguru.com, http://www.jonnyguru.com/modules.php?name=NDReviews&op=Story6&reid=488

80+ ratings certify electrical efficiency. Not quality.

It really depends on the resolution. If he goes for 2k ultrawide or 1440p or higher he will be fine. If he is trying for 1080 high refresh he might take a bit of a hit, but nothing I would call game breaking.

The Vengeance is better than that CX/M. A bit noisier, but it's multi rail, good electrically, and uses nice components.

Aren't Vengeance the VS models, or are they different? I might have been mistaken on that one.

No, the Vengeance models are good tier 1 budget models for people that don't believe in the "single rail is better" claim.

:)
