Hello,

Im from Czech republic. I wanna build a new PC for gaming that would cost aproximetly 1350 USD.

I have three options:

  1. i5-8600K+EVGA GeForce GTX 1060 FTW+ GAMING, 6GB GDDR5+16GB  RAM+M.2 180 GB SSD+2T HDD on MSI Z370-A PRO - Intel Z370 motherboard (whole build: https://goo.gl/RDtSBK)
  2. i5-8400+ASUS GeForce GTX 1070 DUAL-GTX1070-O8G, 8GB GDDR5+16GB  RAM+NO SSD!+2T HDD on MSI Z370-A PRO - Intel Z370 motherboard (whole build: https://goo.gl/tkWSmG)
  3. i3-8350K+ASUS GeForce GTX 1070 DUAL-GTX1070-O8G, 8GB GDDR5+16GB  RAM+M.2 180 GB SSD+2T HDD on MSI Z370-A PRO - Intel Z370 motherboard (whole build: https://goo.gl/WA5BXD)

What resolution gaming are you going for 1080p at 60Hz or anything higher?

Personally for a gaming PC, I'd go for a 1070 or better. The graphics card improvement would be more noticeable during gaming than having a lower card and a SSD/M.2. With that in mind, out of the three options, I'd choose option 2.

Stop and think a second, something is more than nothing.

Option 2,  get an ssd latter.   as long as your not planning to overclock.

I personally would rather have the better graphics card for in game performance over the faster start up times that the ssd brings.  But that will be something for you to decide.

Consider Ryzen 5 with 1070/1080 as the motherboards are cheaper.

CPU: Ryzen 5 1600 MOBO: MSI Tomahawk B350 GPU: Reference cooled GTX 980 Storage: Intel SSD5 256Gb RAM: 8gb Geil EVO Potenza Case:  Phanteks p300 PSU: EVGA 500 watt CPU Cooler: AMD wraith spire

Steam: maxarooni4

Battle.net: MAX

stock cooling is good with ryzen if it comes with a stock cooler.  From my understanding better that stock intel cooling.

amd is not AS good as intel for gaming but this doesn't mean its not good.

The motherboards aren't that much cheaper, especially when only comparing it to X370 prices. Also considering the prices of the builds they provided, it looks like they aren't too stingy on the prices

The Ryzen 5 1600's stock cooler will do just fine, even with a modest overclock. Also yes, it's not the best but it performs pretty damn well for the price. But if we were focusing only on gaming performance and nothing else, the i5-8400 would perform better
