It depends. Ubuntu comes with some generic drivers built in, if you need something specific (especially from a third party) you should be able to find it in the "additional drivers" (or whatever it's called nowadays) section in the settings. If you need help with something that isn't recognized feel free to ask.

but that .2% is a pain in the ass

for example, printer drivers. god they're awful.

Ubuntu has a repository of tried and tested drivers.  Newer versions like 17.10 pretty much supports everything you can think of.

Nvidia drivers yes, alienware no idea

Microsoft Office is not available natively for Linux, however Libreoffice is not the only office suite you can use; WPS Office for example is very similar to MS Office in interface and is also free. If you must have MS Office you can install it through wine.

Microsoft Office is not available natively for Linux, however Libreoffice is not the only office suite you can use; WPS Office for example is very similar to MS Office in interface and is also free. If you must have MS Office you can install it through wine.
