Since Razer Comms stopped (yes, I actually used that, and it worked like a charm for me) I have downloaded Discord for the occasional gaming on PUBG with some friends. It works great, never had any problem with it other than Discord not automatically using the speakers that you have set as your default speakers in Windows, but it using the speakers you have set as default in Discord itself. They should make it an option that it doesn't do that.

I used to use Skype but due to how easy it is to get IP addresses from it I switched to Discord for a little. It was nice and I set up a bot that sent hentai in chat and our members got good use from it, but I don't use it anymore because I really dislike the whole setup and I forgot my account password. The email and device are gone so I can't really get it back now. If you'd need something like this I would suggest Discord though, it does the job.

Used to use skype, then skype started to crash my audio, then I used google voice until me and my friends found discord., it isn't perfect but much better than its alternatives

i use discord sometimes. but also teamspeak.

skype sucks. big time.

  • it messes with audio levels even when told NOT to.
  • no push to talk AFAIK
  • it consumes WAY too much ressources when it is just sitting there.
  • no working linux client (there is one but that one didn't get updates in forever and is technically useless)

Discord:

  1. no ads
  2. better quality imo
  3. looks nicer
  4. default dark mode no having to use Windows 10 skype
  5. multi user screensharing

i have been using it for ages, like since way, way before it was remotely popular. i have been on it for a long long time and i have no will to change, discord is great and it has a great team of devs behind it and now with video chat it can finaly replace Skype for a lot of people.

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

I started using Discord when it was in beta and have been using it since. My only concern with discord is that it will shut down because it isn't profitable. If it shuts down then I'll probably go to HAM radio.

Space is pretty awesome.
