Hi, Im looking to buy ram for my next Ryzen build and I have a few questions. Gskill recently released their Ryzen optimized trident z kit, how do I know if a ram kit is one of the Ryzen optimized ones? Also, I have heard that Samsung die works better with Ryzen, is the Trident Z kit made of the Samsung die? How about the RGB in general, does it work as it should on Ryzen? Thanks!

I'll tell you what I tell others with similar questions. Your best bet is to go by your board's list of memory known to work (QVL). Ryzen seems to work best with a 16GB (2x8GB) Single Rank kit containing Samsung B-Die chips. Others will work, but you may not achieve full rated speeds. Bios updates will improve memory compatibility. Samsung B-Die is expensive, but it's worth it if you have the budget for it.

I'll leave you a few links you may find informative. You can use the model numbers to choose a kit you like. Maybe cross-reference it with something on your board's QVL. But anything B-Die should work great, but not strictly necessary.

It should sync like smooth, especially if you are in the Asus Aura Sync ecosystem
