Why all the changes?

Okay, so I logged on this morning to find that everything has moved around, that is all fine, but the part that irritates me the most is the fact that I am no longer a Floatplane Pilot but an LMG Pilot.

To me, Floatplane Pilot sounded cool, but LMG Pilot sounds like they've just tacked it on to distinguish between the other creators, and it just doesn't work.

If they had to put LMG in it, wouldn't it have been better to have 'LMG Floatplane Pilot', or 'Floatplane Pilot - LMG' or something similar.

Also, why is Floatplane called LMG Floatplane on the main page but still Floatplane Club in the header?

Seems to me like they're just changing things without a plan, winging it as they say (get it, wings, floatplane lol)

i was just about to make a topic about this. i dont really care but i think this means the dedicated site is going to be launching soon and with the confirmation of someone else joining the party (BitWit i hope) this distinction is going to be important

Bitwit already announced in his 1070ti live stream that he was joining Floatplane as soon as it launches

I was under an impression that I bought a "Floatplane subscription" not LMG subscription. 

 

When they said other creators will join I assumed (was it ever clear?) that it's all under the same subscription. They even said that it's going to be more expensive after others will join.

 

Floatplane was "sold" to me as a platform, not creator specific pass. They said that other creators will join... That's why I got a year subscription.

They have been very clear since beginning that its pay-per-creator. Not one fee covering all.

You must have misunderstood it then. Every time Linus or Luke have talked about other creators, they've said that each creator will have own fee. If you pay for LMG content, then you will only get LMG content. Anything else would make this like Vessel or YT Red or Twitch/Amazon Prime. They would need millions of users to make it sustainable for both creators and platform itself.

Show me where it's specified in "store" tab? I'm not mad or anything, I bought it as a way of supporting them. All I'm saying is that it was/is a bit confusing if you don't listen to the stream.

 

IMHO it should be explained in the store  

 

P.S. I'm so happy that "computer hardware" section is back to the place it was before... bottom of a page was not a good place for it.

It doesn't read in store page. But nor does it say that it will be same fee for whole FP. Tbh, all of those (store page, welcome thread etc.) are far outdated. Its been talked in WAN show few time, plus afterparties (of which some are left if Twitch archives). Here's the man himself replying in Welcome thread:
