Hey everyone, long time lurker here.

I was initially planning an ATX build, however I took a liking to the Phanteks Evolv Shift and was wondering if I could still build the powerhouse I had in mind into a small form factor.

Pricing isn’t on my mind right now as I’ll use this for my work as well as my freelance business (lots of design, 3D work, and some animation - but also some gaming). I also don’t plan to really upgrade much over the next 4-5 years unless I can resell parts at a good price.

Anyways, I just wanted to know if anyone had experience fitting these components into the case and whether there were issues with performance.

Case: Phanteks Evolv Shift

Mobo: ASUS ROG Strix Z370-I

CPU: 8700K Delidded (hoping for 5GHz)

Cooler: NZXT Kraken X42

RAM: G.Skill Trident Z RGB 2x16GB

GPU: ASUS Strix GTX 1080Ti OC 11GB

PSU: Corsair SF600

SSD: Samsung 960 EVO M.2 1TB

HDD: NAS for creative file storage

Will 600w be enough power? Will the X42 cool a delidded 8700K properly? Will the 1080Ti fit? Is this futile and I should just go with ATX?

Thanks for reading, and for any advice you can give.

:)

Novel but the design actually hurts function.

Yeah, you're right. It looks like a beautiful case and I love the small footprint, but after doing a bit more research it's a shame that heat is a massive issue with this case. Plus the X42's radiator is too large, so the SFX PSU has to sit above it which is not ideal.

:(

What if you put a Corsair H80i V2 and a AIO GPU? It won't look quite as nice, imo, but it could still look good if it functions better.
