Is it worth getting an Amp?

I have a pair of Goldring NS1000's after some light googling it seems many would suggest getting an amp.

So... Yay or nay? Is it worth getting a DAC as well? Any suggestions that a worth pairing with my particular headphones?

Thanks.

Depends  a bit on your motherboard, if it's recent, probably not worth it.

Gotta check for max OHM on your board audio and headphones

Not very good in sound terms, but i think this is correct.

Probably not with your current headphones they are designed for mobility so that a phone could drive them.

You generally hear improvements with high impedance headphones like the Sennheiser HD 600/HD 650 or balanced armature earphones like the Shure SE535.

Don't listen to people who claim that motherboard audio is crap. It's been pretty good for a while now.

No don't bother with those. They are protible headphones, they don't need an Amp. Now an Amp will always slightly change the sound, but it is not worth your money to get an Amp for those. I would get a better set of headphones and have no Amp, then have those with an Amp.
