Why do you have an mITX motherboard inside an old case?

If you get an AiO, at least get one that's 280mm.

That's a really expensive kit of Hynix RAM...

Are you sure you don't want a higher capacity HDD?

There is a white version of the 750W RMx.

That's a really expensive DVD writer. Pretty sure you could get one that takes Blu-Rays for less price.

:)

What sort of "projects" and "video editing"?

i agree with what has been said so far, definity should get a larger HDD unless they use a NAS, in which case you might be able to get a smaller HDD (or get rid of all together) and get a bigger SSD so that all programs are on SSD, and yeah you could probably find a cheaper CD drive

  1. Do you know what software the client uses for video editing?
  2. What resolutions does the client work with?
  3. Is the system used mostly for video editing?
  4. Budget?

in some cases, id perso ally go with the 8700k due to it being better than the 1700 in all single threaded apps(adobe) and if it lags in multi threaded its only by a smaller margin

to get r7 competitive you should look at better x370 boards which arent much cheaper than a good z370 board which has to handle six rather than 8 cores

cpu is roughly the same price so eh, consider availability maybe

in my country today prices a 8700k is almost the price of a 1800x, that was my base of comparison.

I would suggest a more powerful cpu. More memory. And all ssd storage. Unless the client likes looking at hardware, I would suggest a non-windowed case for slightly better sound dampening. I would also suggest Windows 10 Pro. Its bitlocker feature allows for the encryption of storage, including usb sticks. Since intellectual property is being stored on the machine, this is elementary protection.

If the cpu is not going to be overclocked, consider going with an air tower cpu cooler like the NH-U14S that can run quietly and does not have a limited life.
