Old alienware

They are likely soldered in, if they were MXM cards than maybe yes..but I highly doubt that + MXM cards can be quite expensive.

 

Also, cooling is another thing if course.. is this about a PC or laptop?

A laptop.. cooling would be almost impossible and modding some cooling onto a PC would be just very difficult.
