I have a GTX 1080ti (1hdmi and 3DP) and a benq xl2411 144hz (hdmi1.2 and dvi-D)

Question: if I buy a display port to a dvi-D cable will I get 144hz on my monitor?

So there is no way to get my monitor to 144hz without buying a $100+ thingy
