Netflix causing system to lag

So I just installed the Radeon 17.10.3 drivers and now when I watch Netflix my PC plays the video for a few seconds then freezes the video and the mouse lags, and does it again, and again. 

 

The drivers installed perfectly and my issues with a certain game crashing were fixed so what the hell happened?

, nothing to do with windows tbh amd is known for releasing unstable drivers  

 

try a downgrade

 

also remember when u disable/enable hardware accel u need to reboot the ENTIRE BROWSER  or it doesnt take effect/apply

The previous install was why I updated. Its not the drivers. 

 

Also Netflix doesn't use flash lol.

MS Edge does it but not as bad and the mouse doesnt seem to be affected.

That's what I did to fix the issues I was having before with 1 of my games crashing.

What is the cpu utilization when Netflix is running? This would at least indicate whether Netflix is using the hardware acceleration of the video card, or if the CPU is doing the job instead.

 

Though by all rights, even if hardware acceleration borked itself, the cpu should handle h.264 1080P video just fine.

nah never had any issue with any nvidia card really, just amd especially with the catalyst  those things were like 10.2 stable 10.3 not stable 10.4 not stable 10.5 stable 10.6 not stable  haha just an example

Apparently someone else is having my issue on Reddit. 

 

I tried the Netflix app but the issue persisted. Guess I'll just have to wait it out since I aint reinstalling the old drivers.

Try other video players that you know will use the GPU for decoding. If this problem isolated to Netflix, or does it apply to local media as well?

Netflix is the only thing that does it. YouTube runs great, local playback is flawless.

I'm pretty sure its a Netflix issue. And besides, there is a reason I bought a MacBook, I can never rely on Windows 10 or anything from MS.

Sounds like more a problem with Netflix and your video driver than anything Microsoft had done.

When the new driver fixes the game issue but breaks that one online service you use mostly for white noise while doing shit........

 

I blame MS. If it really was a driver issue I would expect to fine more issues outside of an obscure online service.

littley every other driver Nvidia releases has issues, only evey other becase they have to relase a new one to fix it the next day or two.

 

I remebr when pascal came out the forum was flooded with questions about gaming being laggy and it was becase they couldn't get the drivers right.

 

my 1080 had was more issues than my 390, i would game on my 390 rig whenever the new nvidia drivers effed up

Or blame AMD, you know, the one that actually broke stuff in their driver.

 

There was a driver issue that broke CUDA capability for my own Nvidia card for a little bit some time ago.

i dont buy any new released cards at all, its recipe for disaster at the first half year

Can you explain how? I really dont understand how buying new card upon release is a recipe for disaster? Unless your not a logical person.

 

i buy the latest and greatest GPU and CPU evey release, just becase I have the money to do so and I never had issues, even years after release they can put out a diver that’s broken and they have.

 

But that’s why I have a top of the line AMD and intel/Nvidia and upgrade them both as soon as I can
