Was wondering anyone's thoughts on a 1950X in a Dual PC setup for live streaming as just an encoding machine and how it would preform quality wise

would be great to see it in action bench marked into a video.

All videos and most info seem to cover the 1 rig setup for live streaming and not for example a gaming rig with an i7 with a capture card in a dedicated stream PC running a thread ripper.

Been debating for awhile about going to that route as I run a el gato HD60 pro in a Dell r710 server with dual Xeon quad core L5520 chips as an encoding rig,

and my current rig that i game from rocks a 4930k and a MSI 1080.

I'm just trying to reach for the sky here and climb to that 1080p goodness eye candy galore, maybe even play some games at 4k or 1440p and downscale.
there's alot of ways to go about the dual PC setup but thoughts and some info would be great

just another hardware enthusiast with dreams and memes

If you had a 16 core CPU you wouldn't need a secondary system for encoding, especially at 1080p/60fps.

Although you may need it in the capture rig if you were trying to capture top quality 4k 60fps game play footage.

I edit my posts a lot, Twitter is @LordStreetguru just don't ask PC questions there mostly...

Spoiler

What is your budget/country for your new PC?

what monitor resolution/refresh rate?

What games or other software do you need to run?

Well it gives you a very competitive edge/lead against other streamers in the market who run the standard 720p , in an example 1080p PUBG stream they would be able to see the people I can see like little ants far away.

I do enjoy lots of FPS games at high movement speed so being able to prevent it getting pixel murdered and also skips at high movement. In a game like Overwatch or Lawbreakers. Other games with lots of effects like explosions and flying sparks and such can cause a drop in "clear visibility" for short moments.

The real goal here is to provide the best experience I can for the viewers as if they were watching the TRUE broadcast IRL, for example at this Twitch Con that just happened being able to see a real time view of the gameplay is awesome. Just as if you're looking over someones shoulder. I think you know where I'm coming from.

Ultimately  it's not worth investing into unless you're able get that quality PLUS lovely extra's running like:

  1. the Bit Cup (physics destroyer)
  2. On screen emotes
  3. Chat feed on stream
  4. Kappa gen Mascot
  5. Bitboss/Stream Boss
  6. ect

basically all the extra stuff that needs to pull from the web and constantly update can bottle down stream and game depending on how you are doing it.

The main purpose of having a 2 rig setup is that you are able to switch from game to game without a worry that you're quality settings and such NEVER affect your gameplay.

with un-optimized games and new titles becoming more and more demanding it's convenient to and 2nd rig just for the stream.

not to mention i already own the sound card, capture card, amp, mic, and a 1050ti in there for swag points
