Headset for my birthday

I really like this headset my younger brother uses, the Cloud II. My birthday is coming up in November and I dunno if I should get one of these myself or if there's something better value out there I should consider because I don't have a ton of experience shopping for audio equipment and I'm just looking on Amazon. 100 USD is kind of expensive, but I don't want to go below ~60 USD either for the sake of quality because these things have really comfy over ear foam pads and the metal frame feels sturdy. Having a 3.5mm jack is essential so I can use it with my S7 smartphone.

Or is there maybe a way to get a microphone that can clip to a pair of Sennheiser headphones?

I had a "higher end" Cloud and they're great for the money. Super comfortable. I'd say go for it, or wait for Black Friday and see if anything goes on super sale, like a Sennhesier unit.

The Cloud Core (usually <$60) is the exact same thing as the Cloud II but it comes with an extension cable and analog adapter instead of a USB dongle (which you shouldn't use anyways) and doesn't include velour pads (which you shouldn't use anyways).

Under $100 the best you can do is a Sennheiser HD558 (goes on sale often for $60 at Best Buy) with a Modmic 4 ($43). Better than the Clouds in almost every way, but open-backed headphones aren't an option for everyone.

That's an interesting option I didn't know existed.

Wait though, Is that Velour material the same kind of pad I'm currently using on my Brother's Cloud II? Why would I want to not use that? It's super comfy IMO.

The Cloud II comes with both pleather and velour pads. The Takstar Pro 80 (which the Cloud is based on) was designed for pleather pads and sounds better with pleather. Velour was an afterthought thrown in by Kingston.
