Hello,

I've build a custom pc these are my parts:

Kfa2 gtx 1080

8 gb ram 2400 MHz

I5 7600k 3,8 ghz

Ssd 500 gb

Asus strix z270h  gaming

I am getting around 60 or lower fps at the max settings in battlefield 1, gta v I am also getting drops in the game Paladins and overwatch. I don't know what this causes my friend has a 1070 and has sometimes more fps than me...?(he has a older I5) I would really like to know what this causes cause this is something that has been irritating me since I've experienced it. Also my 1080 can easily get to 80 °c I 've got fans on my 1080 3 in the front of my case and one in the back. If someone could explain me what causes my two problems i would be very happy.

How is your RAM usage while gaming?  Seems like that should really be more like 16 GB for "balance".

Solve your own audio issues  |  First Steps with RPi 3  |  Humidity & Condensation  |  Sleep & Hibernation  |  Overclocking RAM  |  Making Backups  |  Displays  |  4K / 8K / 16K / etc.  |  Do I need 80+ Platinum?

If you can read this you're using the wrong theme.  You can change it at the bottom.

RAM could be the issue here. The 1080 also seems to be getting a bit hot but nothing extreme. I would probably use a tool to check your GPU usage and temps while gaming. Also make sure all your settings are set to high performance in windows power management and the nvidia control panel.

What's your RAM and pagefile usage, temps for CPU and GPU, and what's the OS?

Hint: Use MSI Afterburner and Rivatuner's on-screen display to find usages.

Are you running single (1 stick of 8gb) or dual channel (2 sticks of 4gb)?

I've seen benchmarks and videos of BF1 using just 8gb (single vs dual channel) and you'll get way more fps when you have ram in dual channel. Youtube seach BF1 single vs dual channel ram and from my observation, users get 5-10+* increase in fps.

*edit

You will reduce or even eliminate stuttering in BF1 when you have memory in dual channel config.

I know my CPU's are an issue. But they are old. With a single 1080, my 3770 would get destroyed some maps, the other CPU handles it a tad better. 1440 or 1080. Even with my old Keplers I haven that issue with bf1 or bo3.

Having issues with a Corsair AIO? Possible fix here:

Spoiler

Are you getting weird fan behavior, speed fluctuations, and/or other issues with Link?

Are you running AIDA64, HWinfo, CAM, or HWmonitor? (ASUS suite & other monitoring software often have the same issue.)

Corsair Link has problems with some monitoring software so you may have to change some settings to get them to work smoothly.

-For AIDA64: First make sure you have the newest update installed, then, go to Preferences>Stability and make sure the "Corsair Link sensor support" box is checked and make sure the "Asetek LC sensor support" box is UNchecked.

-For HWinfo: manually disable all monitoring of the AIO sensors/components.

-For others: Disable any monitoring of Corsair AIO sensors.

That should fix the fan issue for some Corsair AIOs (H80i GT/v2, H110i GTX/H115i, H100i GTX and others made by Asetek). The problem is bad coding in Link that fights for AIO control with other programs. You can test if this worked by setting the fan speed in Link to 100%, if it doesn't fluctuate you are set and can change the curve to whatever. If that doesn't work or you're still having other issues then you probably still have a monitoring software interfering with the AIO/Link communications, find what it is and disable it.

1 stick of 8 gb ram

My OS is windows

Case: Cooler master 5 lite

Cpu and ram usage? You mean how much power they need...?

In Nvidia control panel I ve set it to prefer maximum performance is there any other option I should turn on of?

What's single and dual channel?

I am currently on mobile. But if you need other information  about my pc I can provide that. Thanks for helping me out so far!

Single vs Dual channel memory configuration is not the ram itself but the motherboard supporting it. Your motherboard supports dual channel and quad channel. https://www.asus.com/us/Motherboards/ROG-STRIX-Z270H-GAMING/HelpDesk_Manual/ Check out page 19 in the user's manual for your motherboard to know the recommended memory configurations for dual channel or quad channel. I would buy a DDR4 2133 or 2400 16gb (2x8gb kit) to replace your single 8gb ram. If you are on a budget buy a 8gb (2x4gb kit). Do not mix your current 8gb ram with another ram with different timings, voltage and frequency. Battlefield 1 will have better frame times (smooth gameplay/no stuttering) with dual channel memory configuration especially in multiplayer from the youtube videos I've seen with users testing both configs. 5-10 frame rate difference is not a huge improvement with dual channel config but you will notice less stuttering. Youtube "single channel vs dual channel" to learn more about the tech.

Minimum framerates are heavily dependent on CPU and ram. Your CPU is fine (even at 3.8ghz), but that ram is quite slow. Might be worth tweaking the ram to achieve higher speeds. Investing in another 8GB stick is also ideal as some titles are starting to leverage more than 8GB these days.

As for GPU temperatures, you may want to apply a custom fan curve to combat the higher thermals. Many GPU's ship with mediocre stock fan curves that focus entirely on noise, with thermals being an afterthought. If you don't mind some extra noise, adjust the curve to be higher than what it currently is and you should see a pretty significant drop in temperatures, and perhaps even an improvement in boost clocks.

Just to clear this up, that board doesn't support quad channel, it has 4 dims in dual channel, aka 2 per channel. I know some people call it quad cause there's 4 slots, but it isn't actually quad, only AMD Threadripper and Intel's high end /X79/X99 and X299 support quad channel to date :)

Does this only happen in BF1? Have you also tried overclocking the CPU ? Also as others have said, 8gb is cutting it fine for BF1
