Why the lack of wifi on Coffee Lake Boards?

sprunk

Hey guys. I was thinking of upgrading to Coffee Lake soon though can someone tell me why there isn't that many motherboards with wifi built in. And the boards that have it are way expensive which isn't the case on other platforms.I know it is a new chipset though its not like wifi is a new technology? Any thoughts?

Why not just get a WiFi card or USB adapter. Usually better than built in WiFi

Yeah I know that is an option though the cost of that is about the same as getting a higher end board.

Not really. I spent $10 on a usb WiFi card and it works with my full internet speed, no interruptions or anything thus far, had it for months

This whole coffee lake deal is really getting annoying... I was lucky to find an i5 8400 in Thailand...but now no micro atx for it....

About the USB dongle? They work fine, been using them for years
