Is PC Matic/Fix Me Stick as good as they sound?

So as the title says, is "pc matic" as good as it sounds?(although I will say their last commercial is terrible: "can you trust the Russians(kaspersky) with security? The media says no so why should you? All others (shows Norton, McAfee, and a few others) research and developed of of the us, but we do it all in the us" or something like that, then they went on to claim they detected and removed 100% of viruses, malware, etc.) Whats your opinion on them?

I have seen a couple commercials for the "pc fix me stick" that claims that an anti-virus doesn't completely ever do its job so you need it to remove all those viruses that are on your anti-virus protected computer. Then goes on to a "customer" saying that he gave it to his company's IT department and they loved it. Whats your opinion on them?

Just curious since I have seen their commercials for awhile, so they must be doing good enough to buy the ad spots.

The modern media is not a god source to go by these days.

Kaspersky has always been a fairly good go to for ani-viral software. I dont really use it but its a matter of user preference at this point.

These sticks are garbage.

1. Kaspersky is really good. They do a lot of research and find a lot of threats. They have less bloat than McAfee, Norton, etc.. and it works a lot better as well.

2. Fixme and others use precoded scripts to run various software, most of which you can do for free with a little extra time.

3. No company IT person would use any of this. Basic tools: Malwarebytes Premium Trial for scanning, Panda CC, various CMD, and good old searching for the root cause and fixing that.

4. Of course they removed 100% of the viruses. It's easy to do that when you find them. It's the ones you don't find that are scary. The only sure fire ways to make sure your PC is clean is to A. Not do stupid things in the internet (nothing is free, and streaming porn is probably safer than downloading it from torrent or other free sites), and B. Wiping the system. Only days to make sure you're good.

I use Kaspersky. McAfee is garbage. Really resource intensive and seems to cause a lot of stability issues. Norton is great for severe threats, but very slow for normal use IMO. There are others as well, but TL:DR many suck.id use Norton beforrcAfee, Trend Micro, Webroot, etc.. Panda is also pretty good. Viper used to be pretty good, but I hear they're getting a bit slow recently. I also use Malwarebytes. Love it as well.

Most people who buy those products are the same people who think it's ok to force shutdown their device in the middle of an update when the screen says "Don't turn off"..

Those tools are a gimmick. People want a quick fix. You can make your own PC feel faster by doing things yourself and learning along the way. Otherwise, go to a legitimate repair center or tech savvy family member and get things done correctly.

Never trust software you don't know. Magic fixes don't exist. And if something gets broken, it's a lot harder to find and fix it.
