GPU shutting down system at 77 degrees

TheNewMasterD

Hello - I have a GTX 1060 6gb. I just recently got an ASUS PG279Q monitor and since the jump from 1080p to 1440p I have been having some issues. Whenever the GPU hits 77 degrees C - according to GPU-Z - my whole system will shut down. I don’t think I hit this temp before at 1080p. Based on my understanding, the GPU should throttle at 83 and shut the system down around 95? Right now the fans aren’t even hitting 100%. Is there a setting I can change somewhere to fix this?

You can use an overclocking Utility Programm to adjust fan curve and temp limits like EVGAS precision OX. Set just higher fan curve for example.
