So I just ordered a Seagate 1TB HDD and I need to check if it works but I don’t have a laptop on me, can I use my iPad wall adapter and the USB included with the HDD to plus it into the socket to check if it lights up

will it blow the HDD? Or not?

I'm not too sure what you're trying to say.

Just wait until you have your laptop to test the drive?

That's not going to tell you anything. It may try to spin up, but even dead drive can spin up. You need to plug it into a system in order to know if the drive is functioning as intended.

Probably nothing will happen, I tried this once. But dont take the risk. Just be patient and wait until you can plug it into a device. I have a question for you, why would you buy a segate HDD if you have nothing to use it with. Thirdly just because the HDD will spin does not mean that it will work. Just test it with either a computer or laptop.
