Power supplies have to convert the power from the wall outlet to the PC. So whatever it takes in, it has to change and deliver cleanly. This is where the "efficiency" rating comes in. If it's not very efficient at it, it might not be able to keep up. The worse the wall power is, the "dirtier" it is, the more difficult the conversion. If his kitchen has better wiring or can give more power (which is very possible, especially since large things like refrigerators are in kitchens), the PSUs ability to "clean" it won't be tested as much.

Hey better idea

put a 100 rat traps around his bed and then burst a cracker on his head when he jumps outta his bed hes gonna be crying
