Just a quick one. Recently upgraded to gtx 1080 and looking to get a 1440 p monitor. Moving up from a 1080p.

Couple of quick questions. Is g sync a worthy thing to have?....it seems awefully expensive compared to other monitors. Looking for around a 27 inch monitor and see there's some cheaper brands. Are these horrible or worthwhile purchasing?

Will take a couple of months to save up anyways but if you have any recommendations for a cheapish 1440p monitor. I play mainly solo rpgs and not really a shooter fan.

Thanks in advance!

You can often find the Dell 27" monitor with GSync on eBay for around $250. I'd grab one of those.

It's not a must have, but it's definitely nice.

As for the cheap brands. Well. You get what you pay for. I'd at least look for something IPS.

Check in my profile, which monitor I'm using.

It should be pretty cheap, since I got it for 300€ around 1 year ago.

But it's lacking G-sync ... with GTX 1080 you might not even need it, but it sure is great feature. That's why it also adds so much to the price.
