dlna media NAS?

I'm in the process of putting together a media server for my uncle who is legally blind, he will be accessing the NAS through his denon networked AVR.  I am looking at getting a 2bay synology NAS and hooking it up at his house.  I need to research but was hoping to get some direction on the subject.

 

My plan is to take his cd's, a few at a time, and rip them on my machine at home and then hopefully upload them to a NAS at his house.  Is this possible?  I have a WD MyCloud 1tb right now but that thing is just a headache to use and the software WD provides is not all that user friendly.  Any thoughts?
