I'm having a weird problem that just doesn't make any sense to me, and I came here hoping someone could offer me some info on this.

So I got a brand new MSI B350m Gaming Pro with a Ryzen 1200 (also new). When I turn on the PC while it's in the case, it doesn't post, but all the fans are spinning and it won't turn off until I turn off the power supply itself. When I try it outside of the case, it actually boots up into Windows, but it wouldn't let me log in as it didn't show the Password box when I tried to log in. I have no idea what could be causing the post issue, and I just took out my cmos battery for a bit to see if that'll fix the log in problem (this problem persisted when I put my i3 back in), so after class I'm going to see if that worked.

Current Working Specs:

Mobo: Gigabyte H110M-A

CPU: i3 6100

RAM: 2x 4gb G.Skill Ripjaw DDR4 (rated 3000)

GPU: Gigabyte GTX 1050ti

HDD: 1tb WD Black Caviar

PSU: Corair CX550M semi modular PSU

Case: SAMA Maxcool mATX

Newer Parts (Problem Parts):

Mobo: MSI B350m Gaming Pro

CPU: Ryzen 1200

I can provide a video of the problems if more visual detail is needed.

Edit: The whole password box not showing this is fixed after a quick system restore

If it won't boot in the case, but will (sort of) outside the case, then it seems to me you have a grounding/electrical short issue. I'd start there

How's that the problem. Having a not as good motherboard doesn't mean that the system should never work properly especially when new. If you can explain a common issue with this motherboard that that would be more helpful.

As for my own answer all I can suggest is to load optimized defaults in the Bios.

MSI AM4s (especially the trash-class ones) are full of issues, they do cartwheels when they want.

Talking from a personal experience here with B350 Carbon.

Don't buy Apple M1 computers with 8GB of RAM

But the another weird thing here is that my H110M-A works perfectly fine in the case. I also can't see any parts of the case aside from the risers and the IO shield touching the motherboard. I'm missing one screw so one corner of the board is barely floating above one riser, but would that really be an issue?

You didn't mention another board works fine, it's possible the board is bad...

Somewhere the board may have been scratched and exposed a lead it shouldn't have, and it's making contact and grounding out.
