Help with my Math?

All my math is basically online, there is a dumb question that I legit just don't understand. To make matters worse I got a terrible teacher that sometimes shows up and you can maybe ask him a question during class time.

Pre Cal 10.

 

A tire on a car turns 300 times per minute when the car is travelling at 55 km/hr.  What is the diameter of the car tire?

Answer to the nearest cm 

 

That is all the info we get. Any help?

I know you can find the answer with that... I just don't remember the formula.

I feel you. My precalc teacher was terrible too, never really teaching, and I understood that bc he had a degree in computer science instead. He was bad enough to the point where I can't remember learning this in his class. But I feel like there is some formula dating back to geometry you had to use or something.

55 divided by 60 gives you km per minute. 

Then you need to find how many cm are in one revolution. 

Then you need to divide the cm by pi. 

 

I might be forgetting a step, but hopefully this helps somewhat.

Key Formula:
circumverance of circle = pi * diameter

Solution:
1 hour contains 60 minutes.
so in 1 hour the tire turns 300 * 60 = 18000 times.
the distrance traveled in this hour is 55km = 55000 m
so the distrance traveled in 1 turn of the tire is: 55000 / 18000 = 3 1/18 (notated in fractals so there isn't any rounding done here)
so we now know the circumverance of the tire is 3 1/18 m inputting this in the equation we have:
3 1/18 = pi * diameter

so

diameter = (3 1/18) / pi

so
diameter =  0.97261.... m
the answer needed to be given in centimeters and rounded to the nearest centimeter so this will be:
diameter = 97 cm

sorry english isn't my first language ... as far as I knew you called it fractals, but apperently it's fractions instead...

Someone already worked out the solution for you, however the key piece of knowledge that leads you to the solution is that the wheel will travel the length of its circumference in one revolution.
