I'm totally aware of that and I will not put any important data on those HDD on RAID 0. I want to use RAIS 0 for massiv game that I want to play occasonaly (guild war 2, The division, WOW, etc).

I can buy 2 WD bleu 1 To for just 120 CAN$. To have the same storage with SSD's it would cost me almost 1000 CAN$. So for games that I play occasonaly, I don' want to pay that hight price for SSD.

So my question is: sould I spend 120 CAN$ on WD bleu, or pay 200 CAN$ for WD black? Will a see a speed difference considering that both a 7200rpm? And if so.... does it wort 80$?

you wont see $80 of speed increase

Hi,

I'm looking to expand my storage on my PC. Now I have a 250 gb samsung SSD for windows and my main games, but I need more storage. I want to buy 2x1 To HDD to put in RAID 0 to have a good volum and good speed. The thing is, I don't know if I should buy 2 WD bleu HDD, or invest a bit more money to get 2 WD black HDD. Is there a big difference of performence between the two? Both 1 To and 7200rmp.

Thx for your help

i would never trust a RAID 0 with anything i cared about keeping, if one disk dies you cant get anything off the other one and its all gone. id go with reds if you want to do it anyway because they are NAS disks ment for 24/7 operation

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

Spoiler

true, but i doubt a WD red will make it more relieable. reds are pretty relieable drives but i'd prefer blacks when 24/7 operation is not required.

i would also think about a backup solution - maybe a NAS or another 2x2tb RAID1 - but then you need to buy 4 drives (2x 1tb for raid 0 and 2x 2tb for raid1) so you could as well go with 4x 1tb and go raid 5
