1) What are you gonna do with your PC?

2) 7800X and 8700K ARE NOT EVEN CLOSE TO BE THE SAME. They have different support, motherboard, socket, features ... the total system cost will vary a lot between the two.

3) Any real reason to not consider AM4?

I don't have any real reason.the only reason i have is that just i don't like amds at all i know the last generation is great blah blah blah,i just don't.

I want mostly to build some apps for kinect and vr and of course gaming. They are in the same price range, they are close in the processor frequency,of course i know they are not the same thats why i told you kind of similar.

 2) 7800X and 8700K

Considering both are 6 cores. If OP were to consider the 2, 8700k is the better choice. At stock speeds its about 70 higher cinebench score and higher single score (this one is much more important). x299 MB (400$ish) for the 7800x will also be more expensive then a mainsteam z370 motherboard (80-250$ max like Z270/Z170) for the 8700k.

Well, it's your choice to shoot to your feet not mine.

Take the 8700K. It costs the same, but has better temperatures, it's the same or slightly better in general performance, it overclocks better and the relative motherboard configuration costs less.

When it comes to the mainstream, they both pack 6 cores, although I would recommend the 8700k as it is faster in single core performance, the 8700k also has better overall temperatures and is slightly the same in general performance workloads, the motherboard configurations are cheaper and it overclocks better.
