what is the difference in these 2 boards. i know that they are for intel nad one is from amd, but what are the other differences? like a saw that the amd board has a vrm heatsink but the intel one doesnt, the intel one has different PCIe slot configuration, what else?

i wanted to know the differences because i am putting together a new build and the r5 1600 and the i5-7600k are the same prices now. thats why i am asking.

Like above guy says, b350 boards allow overclocking

B250 boards don't allow overclocking. The equivalent for socket AM4 of AMD would be boards with the A320 chipset

The amd board has more usb 3 ports on the back . B250 has fewer and more usb 2.0 ports on the back panel.

Most AM4 processors come with a decent cooler. No need to replace it if you won't overclock, and they'll even be good for that "mild" overcloclocking

Intel cpus with K in the end usually don't come with a cooler, and even the ones that come with cooler usually the coolers are fairly weak and noisy

the am4 board has better layout for the pci-e x1 slots, they won't be blocked by graphics cards, and theres no pci-e x1 slot above the first pci-e x16 slot to block air

the amd board should have the m.2 connector coming directly from the cpu ( pci-e x4) while the intel board i believe connects the m.2 to the chipset, and then the chipset has a total bandwidth with the processor which is pretty much as pci-e x4 would do.

So m.2 on Intel in theory is weaker, but most people buying a b250 board don't buy a SSD so fast that they'd notice the lack of performance.

so i should go with intel or amd for a pure gaming build and mild multitasking?

i understand that the amd board is better but intel cpu is better. what should i do?
