2 Gaming Rigs 1 Tower with AMD CPU Ryzen 1700

Dear Linus Tech Tips.

I have being following your channel for while now.

And as the title  2 Gaming  Rigs 1 that you did on

one of your videos I was wondering.

Due to recently I have done a build of a

Ryzen 1700 with

16GB ram

Samsung M.2 EVO 960 250GB

ASRock X370 Gaming K4

and Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080

What is the possible that Ryzen can do a unRADI

and host to Gaming rigs with minor upgrades like one more

GPU and 16 more GB of RAM?

If you can please give me your opinion on the matter due to

in a few months I am going to upgrade and I would like to

know if it is going to support such a thing.

Thank you.

Keep up the good work and best of wishes.

Its probably possible but didn't they say (awhile afterwards) that they had issues with all of their "x gamers 1 tower" machines?

You could probably do it without the RAM upgrade if you were trying to save pennies, but I have Unraid on a R7 and it works a treat! x

Just now, TheGleaner said:

Yes, but that was due to the ATI Nano's having really pants drivers :)

The 1700 has virtualization, so in that sense it should be possible.. But as mentioned before that GPU passthrough was kinda messed up on the platform.

Also, you will need two more GPU's. One for the other gaming system and one to 'run' the UnRAID control panel thing. The Ryzen 1700 has no integrated GPU.
