GPU question

Go to solution Solved by cjeffcoatjr,

You cant 3-Way crossfire with the board, so the 270X is out of the picture. I would go for the non-reference R9-290, and get the DCUII flavor. Single stronger cards are mainly better than weaker dual cards, because you can then upgrade to dual cards and beast at performance. Get the 290.

The blue slots on the left of the picture are the only ones that can have GPU's. There are two...

Hey guys!

I like to ask which is the best graphic card set up for my rig. My options are :

1X R9 290
2X R9 280x (crossfire)
3X R9 270 (trifire)

In my opinion, I love the R9 290 but it's too NOISY and HOT. I might just wait for the non-reference card.
These are my specs :

AMD FX 8350
Cooler Master Seido 120M
MSI 970A-G43
650W
Kingston HyperX (4X2) 8 GB

I like pie

Preferably single gpu setups are better.

In the grim darkness of the far future, there is only a GTX 1080, just a single 1080, where my glorious PC once stood....

For that is all I need, For the Emperor of Man, Jen-Hsun Huang, protects. We march for Nvidia, and we shall know no fear!

You can really fire on that board because the other slots are x4 so buy a single gpu

Single GPU will be better. wait for non-reference.
