I recently went to a Corsair H100 closed loop system for CPU cooling. It came with two fans but one was DOA. I just put a spare case fan in its place. But I am wondering what fan do you guys recommend to use on your radiators? Been looking at Corsair's Air Series SP120 (Static Pressure) but wanted to see what you guys thought.

Right now I have it running in a push configuration but thought about going to push/pull. Any insight would be helpful.

Thanks

RMA the thing.

A case fan is designed to move air but doesn't typically generate enough static pressure to push air through a close-finned radiator. The SP120 are very similar to the fans that come with he H100. They are very good in radiator applications. They are not the most quiet at doing this, nor are they the loudest.

Push/pull does offer a degree or two of improvement, but that is all. Most people don't find it worth the cost.

80+ ratings certify electrical efficiency. Not quality.

SP120's are darn loud.

Where are you shopping/located? Any preferred color scheme?

@WoodenMarker

I am going with the Asus Maximus VI Hero motherboard which is a RoG board so red and black will be the colors. I like the color rings although it is not a deal breaker for me. And I normally shop Newegg.

I game with noise cancelling head phones so sound doesn't bug me. Just looking for proformance improvement of the cooling system or to at least see if a improvement can be reached with better fans.

@brob

I wasn't that worried about the fan being dead, even with the case fan I am able to get the over clock I was looking for with the temps under Intel's recommended max temp for my CPU.
