Headphone setup

Go to solution Solved by MayflowerElectronics,

Would you recommend your O2 or o2/odac combo.

It depends on if you plan on getting more headphones in the future. If you are going to stick with the hobby and investing into it, you might as well get the best. If not, all you'll need is the o2.

I was thinking of getting a new headphone setup. But, I am not completely sure about what I was going to get.  I was thinking about the Sennheiser HD558 and the MayFlower o2/ODAC. Is that a good setup or does anyone have a better suggestion my max budget is about 500$ USD

558's don't need an amp, getting something like the HD600's and Mayflowers O2's would max your budget and be better.

Mostly house and electric.

A Beyerdynamic might be more "fun" and would actually make use of the O2 amp. DT 770 for closed or DT 990 for open depending on your preference. :)

I have never tried open headphones but I have always wanted to. Thanks for the suggestion.
