That is potting compound or glue they put in place to ensure tall components don't move and help to lessen the chance of coil wine in the coils.

It's common practice and you can find many units that have the same thing.

Here's is the same series of PSU, they also have potting compounds inside: http://www.jonnyguru.com/modules.php?name=NDReviews&op=Story5&reid=486

Yep that is a good thing to have to prevent dust build up in the unit, if you have it face down.

At least they tend to use Delta units...?

My account is almost entirely dormant. Hope you all are having a grand time. Many years of fun were had here.

That's normal, don't worry yourself over it.

Face down is best so the intake is not intaking hot air from the components and this way it's also picking up far less dust.

No, that's intentional.

Some chinese girl (maybe eventually a guy) in a factory put that there according to specifications from Corsair.

The reason is that the coils and caps are firmly connected to the mainboard. And don't come loose in transport.

As sad as it sounds but it is some sign of quality to see more glue stuff than less in a PSU. That makes the PSU a bit more reliable. In theory at least...

Not neccessarily.

They also use LiteOn and sometimes even HiPro.
Depends on who has what they want at the time (for a good price)...

Lenovo for example uses Huntkey. As did LC-Power. Wich got them a really really bad name.

BUt Huntkey also can do some decent stuff, if you want to pay for it. Sadly nobody I know of ever did that.

I ran into another problem with the case fan connectors if you arent busy or anything here is this the new post i made

That looks to just be an adapter take off the molex portion and plug the 3 pin fan connection into the motherboard, you can plug a 3 pin into a 4 pin header.

Image result for 3 pin 4 pin fan header
