Computer Upgrade

I currently have a computer with an FX-6300 paired with 16GB of corsair vengeance RAM and an EVGA Geforce GTX 950 SC. I have been noticing some slowdowns as far as my games are concerned. When playing games like GTA V, I notice that my GPU is sitting right at 60% usage and my CPU is pegged. This leads me to believe that my FX6300 is bottlenecking my GTX950.

What I am planning to do is in the next couple of months, upgrading my CPU to an AMD FX-9590 and overclocking it to 5GHZ, and pairing that with an H100i. Adding another 16GB of Corsair Vengeance ram (I do a lot of virtualization) and upgrading my EVGA Geforce GTX 950 SC 2GB to an EVGA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti SC 4GB.

I just wanted to know whether an FX9590 OC'd to 5GHz would bottleneck a 1050 TI.

And I do not want to hear anything about Ryzen. I do not have the budget for that.

Really? I have never heard anything bad about the 9590, what is wrong with it? Other than heat and power?

I know you said you don't want to hear about Ryzen. I'm sorry for this. But I'm gonna say it, get Ryzen.

An fx 9590 OCed is going to lose to an OCed 1600 by quite a margin and also lose in multi threaded by a pretty large margin. Probably 20-30%. That's nothing to joke about.

For a 9590+h100i you're probably looking at spending at least around $250. A Ryzen 5 1600+b350 mobo would cost around $280 ish. Granted, you'll have to sell your ddr3 which is probably gonna mean paying another extra $40-50 but still. Well worth it if you ask me.

You'll end up paying about $75 ish more but you're getting 25% or so better single and multi threaded performance, more threads, a VASTLY better upgrade path, and something that outputs WAYYY less heat. Not to mention that if you OC your 6300 to 5 ghz the 9590 won't even give you better gaming performance.

I love computer hardware and feel free to ask me anything about that (or phones). I especially like SSDs. But please do not ask me anything about Networking, programming, command line stuff, or any relatively hard software stuff. I know next to nothing about that.

Bad single threaded performance

the amount of performance ul get for the price ul have to pay is NOT WORTH IT

better save some money and get ryzen or switch intel ( up to u )

i wouldnt use any series thats below ryzen for gaming really due to crap singlethread performance :S
