Recently I manage to put a system together with fresh new parts, but I am having an issue with posting. I get a Green LED on my C6H with the Q Code 0D. My monitor is plugged to the GPU with a DVI cable and there is no display or the message for going into the BIOS. I tried the bios flashback with the latest bios on my usb flashdrive, but i don't know if that did anything.

Parts are :

R5 1600X

Cryorig H5 Ultimate

Crosshair VI Hero

2x8 GB Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 3200

Samsung 850 EVO 500gb

Asus GTX 1080ti strix

Seasonic Focus plus gold 750w psu

Some mobos gave been taking a long time to post. Like 5 minutes. I would wait 5 minutes for it to post and if it doesn't then you may need to figure out other options.

I hope that was the case, but still no post after half an hour.

I have seen motherboards with long post time, but they are almost always server boards, or HEDT boards with Xeons and ECC RAM, but no matter what if it is taking more than 30 minutes to post it will never post. Your best option is just to RMA the thing, or if you can return it and get a new one as that could be faster.

What is this reset to bios button? I never manage to post to get to the bios.

See the Clr CMOS button (on the left) and the BIOS Flashback (on the right)? Those are the ones that are supposed to help you with this i think.

The one on the left clears your CMOS which just resets the default settings in the BIOS but the one on the right can restore the stock BIOS or maybe even update it if you have a newer version on a flash drive.

Have you tried them before?

Clearing CMOS does nothing and Bios Flashback doesn't really help as far as getting anything to show on screen.

The Q-Code readout is now at 24, but I still have the same issue of black screen. Dunno what I can do from here.

Maybe it's your RAM that's causing a problem.

Thank you for contacting ASUS Product Support, my name is Romaine S. I do hope you are having a wonderful day today.

The meaning of Q-codes being displayed on your CROSSHAIR VI HERO motherboard are as follow:

24 - OEM pre-memory initialization codes

44 - OEM post memory initialization codes

The OEM pre-memory initialization codes means the CPU is trying to make sense of what sticks of ram are on the motherboard.

Please try clearing the CMOS of your motherboard by removing the CMOS battery off the motherboard for 15 seconds and reseating it back.

This should be done with your computer shutdown and unplug from the power outlet.

@Cooked Karambawn Well it still could be a bad kit. I'd say try to move them around and see if the system boots or anything.

Also have you tried this before?
