Laptop lifespan

Hey guys, I just wanted to know how long an average laptop is expected to live without repairs. I hardly take my laptop out of my table, then than a few trips here and there but 95% of the time its on my table. I have a G75 if you are curious..

Hard to say... My 2007 laptop died in 2011, and my dad has a laptop that is over 10 years old and still going strong :)

Besides the hard drive failing due to rough treatment, my 2 dell laptops have lasted 5 years

it really depends how you treat it and how tough it is a friend of mine has a compaq from the 90's still going strong where as my mum has a 2009 Packard Bell that died 2 times within the first year my old laptop an Acer Aspire 7540 lasted me till I just sold it.
