Hello! I am planning a rig for a friend which has an ROG crosshair VI extreme, and I was wondering if the Corsair HX1000i was compatible? My main concern if the fact that the motherboard has more power sockets than most.

Thank you for any help!

it's got the normal amount of power sockets for a high end board, and yes it's fine, all ATX compliant PSUs will work with all fully compliant ATX motherboards.

Yes it's compatible, however it's a bit overkill as an excellent Gold rated PSU can handle the loads easily without sacrificing reliability

Wait... it's overkill because it's Platinum or it's overkill because it's 1000W?

If someone wants a more efficient power supply to save electricity, who are we to judge?

But would the electricity saved in the long run enough to make up for the extra cost of a 1000w Plat PSU?

But seeing that overkill mobo I guess there's nothing wrong with having an overkill mobo too

It's a bit overkill, a RM1000i/RM1000x should be enough
