So updated a friends mobo ( MSI A320M GRENADE) bios because it was stuck on the first ever bios . Now it does not even boot up and the ez debug led is stuck on  cpu led error; i reinstalled the cpu and other cables to if it fixed it.

So was it the bios ?

you only need to update a bios if there is a security reason or bug fix, other than that tis best to leave it on its original bios.

it quite likely is the bios

You do need to update the bios of all ryzen MBOs, to resolve a plethora of issues. Namely RAM compatibility and overclocking.

Leaving any ryzen system on original BIOS, or anything before AGESA 1.0.0.6 is utterly stupid.

@Icycookie we are going to need considerably more information to give you any form of sensible help.

What you did to cause the issue

Specific symptoms, whats failing/failed and how.

What steps have you tried to fix it.

Hmm...failed update perhaps?...about the only thing I can think of unless by some strange coincidence there's some non optimal chips on your motherboard that didn't want to play nicely with the updated BIOS.

Sounds like the bios may be corrupted. Check your motherboard manual for how to recover it.

You could also try turning off the PSU and removing the battery from the MBO for 5 mins to reset everything.

Also, what were you overclocking?

Strange, I thought A320 boards were non overclock able.

Try look in your motherboard manual for how to place the BIOS file on a USB to reflash the board.

I had to do that to an asus b350 plus once.
